ARTICLE 2 - MEMBERSHIP

 

2.01          TYPES. Upon proper application and qualifications, to organizations, teams and leagues who agree to be governed by the Code, Rules and Regulations of GHYSA.

 

2.02          GHYSA ASSOCIATION.  GHYSA’s current affiliation is with ASA, including its affiliate Houston Amateur Softball Association.  The geographical area/boundaries shall be that area within and covered by the rules for the current GHYSA affiliation.  GHYSA shall be divided into leagues/associations with one GHYSA Representative, selected by each League/association.  The GHYSA representative shall act as a liaison between that League/association and GHYSA and the Deputy Commissioner assigned to the League/association.

A.    Affiliation Fee – Each League/Association or Associated Member shall pay an annual fee to GHYSA on or before March 1 of the current playing year.

1.      Each League/association not hosting Championship/Sanctioned Tournaments during the current playing year shall pay $100.00 as their annual fee.

2.      Each Associated Member that is an independent team not hosting Championship/Sanctioned Tournaments during the current playing year shall pay $50.00 as their annual fee.

B.     League Team Dues (team registration fee) - Each League/association shall pay to GHYSA $14.00 for each team registered within the League/association

C.     Associated Member: (Independent Teams) dues. Each Associated Member shall pay $25.00 for each team registered.  The Associated Member must submit a team roster with each player's name, address, and date of birth to the Commissioner.

 

2.03          OTHER MEMBERSHIPS. GHYSA membership shall also include the following classes of membership comprising the Council, which are selected without regard to race, color, religion, national origin or sex.

A.    Commissioner

B.     President

C.     Deputy Commissioners

D.    GHYSA Representative from each League/association

E.     Secretary

F.      Treasurer        

G.    Umpire Administrators

H.    Tournament Directors
